My Happy Ending

When my daughter showed up she introduced me to her friend Liza she said Liza had helped her through it all otherwise she would have never made it to Canada. She tried to escape once beffore but got caught and she was whipped so hard she was now crippled. Mammy Sally said she can come live with me you and Lester in the house I bought for us she can be like my new daughter. This is our life and we will live it to the full potential and just the way we want it.

CANADA

I finally got here as no one was there to welcome me but I was there. I was free I could even go to school. But I didn't find my daughter there, anything could have happened to her for all I know she could be dead. But I got myself a job in a kitchen I was kind of like a houskeeper but I didn't care what I did because atleast I got paid to do it. I could finally buy myself food. I could walk downtown with my head held up so high that i could almost see the Gods whom I pray and thank every minute of every day. When my daughter showed up I was as happy as a pig in a puddle of mud. I didn't have to worry about anything yes I am poor but atleast I'm alive and can say I made it to Canada where I am now free.

The Escape

I don't know how I managed to escape as I was getting weak and old I had bin whipped a few times. But I knew I hd to keep going if I was caught they would whip me until near death came upon my face. But everyday when I saw those kids running like pigs to get there food from a pen it reminded me of June Lilly my beautiful June Lilly she gave me strength I didn't know I had. So I kept running until I finally ran into a house the one with the man who would take me to Levi Coffin who would take me to Canada. I would finally be free to not have to hide to actually be treated like a human being instead of an animal. I mean who desides that black people have the shorter end of the stick who claimed black people to animals. I know Hitler did it to jews but who knows he didn't have blue eyes and blonde hair. He could have bin taken away too. People think they have the right to treat others as animals because of their religion there colour of skin even by the colour of there eyes and hair I mean that is just ridiculous. So I think we should take a stand said Mmmy Sally we will make it to Canada. I will make it to Canada

My Life as a Slave

I have always been a slave I went from picking cotton in the fields to working in the kitchen at massa hensens. He didn't whip us much he was one of the nicest slave owners around. But he grew old and heard of a slave trader in town so he sold us. My daughter was young and strong and was taken to the riley plantation. That was one of the worst plantations he was mean and if you were old or crippled he liked to pick on you by playing cat 'o' nine tails on you're bare back.

So I told my daughter about Canada and how if we followed the North star to Canada we would be free the second we stepped on the land. I got sold as well and I escaped from that. And because i knew that I would see my daughter again if she made it I had to try everything I could to get to her. She gave me strength that I thought was drained she made me hold my head up even higher than it was and she is all I have had to live for.
